Calls for Man United prodigy to be handed first-team spot after brace (and CR7 celebration) for Sweden’s U21s

Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga played a pivotal role for his country tonight, as Sweden’s U21s got the better of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the double

Sweden’s latest crop of up-and-coming talent returned to action a short time ago.

The Blagult played host to the aforementioned Bosnia, in their latest UEFA U21 European Championship qualifier.

Poya Asbaghi’s men headed into proceedings as heavy favourites, owing to a fine spell of recent form which had seen them get the better of the likes of Montenegro (twice), and secure a valuable point in a meeting with Italy last time out.

In turn, when all was said and done on Friday evening, it came as little surprise when the Swedes made short work of their Bosnian opponents.

A dominant display ultimately culminated in the hosts emerging on the right side of a 4-0 scoreline.

Benjamin Nygren and Patrik Walemark both managed to find the net, but, as outlined above, it was star man Elanga who went on to steal the show.

Manchester United’s highly-regarded wide-man bagged a brace on the night, including a pinpoint strike from the penalty spot, which Elanga followed up with his own rendition of Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Calma’ celebration

‘Should be playing’

In turn, with the teen having already opened his account at senior level courtesy of a fine finish versus Wolves on the final day of the 2020/21 Premier League season, it should come as little surprise to hear that many of a Manchester United persuasion have, on Friday, called for Elanga to be afforded a fresh opportunity by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer:
