The Cadiz faithful have made use of the buildup to their side’s meeting with FC Barcelona tonight to take aim at their upcoming opponents, regarding the departure of Lionel Messi.

Barca faltering

Ronald Koeman’s men are of course set to return to action shortly.

The Blaugrana have made the trip to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, for a La Liga showdown with minnows Cadiz.

The two sides are currently separated by just three points in the Spanish top-flight table, with Barca having gotten their campaign off to an altogether hit-and-miss start.

A last-gasp equaliser on the part of Ronald Araujo this past Monday saw the Catalan giants escape an altogether embarrassing defeat at home to Granada, with Koeman and co. already trailing table-topping Clasico rivals Real Madrid by a full eight points (albeit with two games in hand).

Missing Messi

As such, it goes without saying that Barcelona cannot afford to slip up again this evening, amid mounting pressure on the shoulder of boss Koeman.

The struggles of the Blaugrana early-doors this season, though, can of course be at least partly attributed to the loss of the club’s greatest-ever player this past summer.

On the back of a full two decades with the club, 6-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi was left with little choice but to depart his beloved Camp Nou as a free agent, before eventually putting pen to paper on terms with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

And, as outlined above, ahead of the fast-approaching kick-off at the Nuevo Mirandilla, on Thursday evening, the Cadiz faithful have made sure to highlight the woes of their upcoming opponents, post-Messi.

Taking to the streets of southwest Spain, the hosts’ supporters came together to belt out a new chant, questioning ‘where’s Leo Messi?’:
