Brendan Rodgers provides update on Leicester quartet before Leeds

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has, on Friday, provided a fitness update on his squad.

Leeds lie in wait

Rodgers will of course guide his side back into action later this weekend.

On the back of a 1-1 Europa League stalemate with Russian outfit Spartak Moscow on Thursday night, the Foxes will turn their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front.

A Premier League showdown with Leeds United lies in wait, in a lunchtime kick-off at Elland Road.

Leicester head into their trip to west Yorkshire in search of a bounce-back result, having seen a 4-game unbeaten streak in the league brought to a firm end at the hands of Arsenal last time out.

‘A few players back’

As such, it goes without saying that Brendan Rodgers will no doubt be keen to have as many of his key performers as possible fit and available for selection on Sunday.

And, if the latest word stemming from the Leicester camp is anything to go by, then the Northern Irishman’s options look set to be imminently boosted.

Speaking in a pre-Leeds press conference, Rodgers was this evening inevitably drawn on the wellbeing of his squad.

And the Foxes boss went on to confirm that both Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, after missing out in midweek, are likely to be back in contention, with updates also provided on both Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira:

‘Hopefully the players who were out [on Thursday] should be back and available, Harvey [Barnes] and James Maddison. Obviously, Wilf Ndidi got some game time, which is great. Ricardo Pereira should be fine also, so we should get a few players back for the weekend.’
