Arsenal down Newcastle

Arsenal were in Premier League action on Monday evening.

The Gunners welcomed Newcastle to the Emirates looking to bounce back from their disappointing 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace last Thursday.

Arsenal, though, were still unbeaten in four league outings ahead of Monday and were looking to move into the top half of the Premier League table for the first time this season.

And a win is exactly what the north Londoners managed on Monday.

The first 45 was pretty dull, with neither side carving out too many chances.

In the second half, though, Arsenal were able to completely dominate and come away with a 3-0 win.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring five minutes after the break after being played in by Thomas Partey.

Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka then combined 10 minutes later to double the home side’s advantage.

And with just over 10 minutes remaining, Aubameyang added his second of the day to kill the game off.

Smith Rowe on Fernandes comparisons

Following Arsenal’s win over Smith Rowe, it was revealed that only Manchester United Bruno Fernandes has created more chances than Smith Rowe in the PL since December 26th.

And after the game, the Arsenal youngster was drawn on these comparisons to the Man United standout.

Smith Rowe went on to state that he looks up to Fernandes and that his stats are crazy:

“I look up to Bruno Fernandes as a player. His stats are crazy!”
