Arsenal add trio, including highly-regarded Patino, to Europa League squad

Premier League giants Arsenal have opted to add 3 of the talented youngsters from the club’s youth setup to their Europa League group stage squad.

Arsenal vs Molde

Mikel Arteta’s men are of course set to return to European action on Thursday night.

The Gunners will welcome Norwegian outfit Molde to the Emirates, for their latest Europa League group stage outing.

The two sides sit joint-top of the Group B table as things stand, having bagged 6 points-apiece from their opening two fixtures.

As such, a competitive 90 minutes is widely predicted in 48 hours’ time, with Arteta having already made clear his willingness to utilise the less experienced crop of players at his disposal in the Europa League.

The likes of Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock starred in Arsenal’s downing of Dundalk last week, with Folarin Balogun having also been handed his first-team bow.

Starlets called up

And, as outlined above, fans of the Gunners could soon be handed the chance to catch a glimpse of some of the other promising talent emerging from the club’s academy setup.

As revealed by the reliable Jeorge Bird, who covers all aspects of the youth setup at the Emirates, Zane Monlouis, Omari Hutchinson and Charlie Patino have all been added to Arsenal’s Europa League group stage squad list.

The trio, as things stand, ply their trade with the club’s U18s.

Monlouis, 17, can line out at either centre-half or left-back, whilst fellow 17-year-old Hutchinson generally takes to the pitch on either the wing or in an attacking midfield role.

Patino, the most highly-regarded of the three, has starred at youth level of late, and is soon expected to make the step up to Arsenal’s U23 setup. The teen is a midfield playmaker, and previously trained with Mikel Arteta’s first-team at the age of just 16.

Both Monlouis and Patino have already penned professional terms in north London, whilst Hutchinson’s inclusion in the Gunners’ Europa League squad would appear to suggest that he has done the same.
