West Ham midfielder Mark Noble has bemoaned his sending off during the 3-0 win at Liverpool on Saturday, claiming his challenge on Danny Ings did not even warrant a booking.
Noble was given his marching orders in the 78th minute after Manuel Lanzini and the Hammers skipper himself had given their side a two-goal lead at Anfield.
Liverpool, however, were already down to 10 men themselves after Philippe Coutinho had been sent off, and Diafra Sakho netted late on for West Ham to secure the win.

The West Ham midfielder believed his tackle wasn’t even worth a yellow card from referee Kevin Friend

Noble was delighted with victory, but insisted after the game that he could not understand why referee Kevin Friend had shown him red.
‘I’ve watched it probably 10 times back and there’s absolutely no malice in it whatsoever,’ Noble told BBC Sport.
‘I’ve won the ball first. I think it’s Danny Ings who has sort of come over the top and in my eyes, it’s not even a yellow [card]. I think a yellow would have been harsh but there you go, Kev’s seen it the way he did and gave me a straight red.’
The win ended a run of 52 years without victory at Anfield for West Ham, and would have come as a huge relief to new boss Slaven Bilic after disappointing back-to-back home defeats against Leicester and Bournemouth.
It was, however, West Ham’s second away win of the season, after also shocking Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium with a 2-0 win on the opening day.
