Juan Mata believes Manchester United need to stick together and record a victory for their supporters as soon as possible, after defeat by Norwich saw them drop out of the top four in the Premier League.
United’s 2-0 loss against the Canaries at Old Trafford on Saturday means they have not won in six, since beating Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road on November 21.
The defeat has left manager Louis van Gaal fearing losing his job, but Mata wants the players to stick together and improve results over the busy Christmas schedule.

‘The only thing we can do now is stick together and hope that we get the win in the next game because we need it,’ Mata said. ‘We need to win as soon as possible.
‘Everyone’s frustrated; the fans, the staff and especially us. It’s time for us to show that we’re strong, we have to fight in every game and get back to getting good results as soon as possible.
‘It’s Christmas time, a crucial time, so we have to do it.’
United are away to Stoke on Boxing Day before facing Chelsea two days later back at Old Trafford.
They then host Swansea on January 2.
‘As always, I think everyone is trying their best, but things are not working,’ Mata said.
‘We obviously need to win soon, but especially now that we have a lot of games in a short period of time.’
