The La Liga campaign is finally underway but Malaga and Sevilla failed to score in the season opener at the La Rosaleda Stadium.
Malaga forward Charles did find the back of the net two minutes from time but saw the effort ruled out for offside.
Steven Nzonzi, signed from Premier League side Stoke, made his debut for the away side but was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.

The Frenchman was needlessly booked early for impeding a throw-in before a second yellow card for a foul in the 69th minute.
Earlier, Kevin Gameiro wasted his opportunity to prove he could lead Sevilla’s attack after Carlos Bacca’s departure for AC Milan by squandering three great chances in the first 20 minutes.
That may motivate Sevilla to sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month. The club have been linked with a loan move for Juventus forward Fernando Llorente.
