They are hoping a good result comes round the corner – but unlike the current crop of players these ex-Manchester United stars aren’t concerned about what happens on the pitch.
A full team’s worth of former Red Devils are looking to sell their multi-million pound mansions in Cheshire’s ‘golden triangle’ – the area around Wilmslow, Knutsford and Alderley Edge.
Players flogging their luxury homes include defender-turned-pundit Rio Ferdinand, ex-Utd and City striker Carlos Tevez and new Valencia manager Gary Neville. The mansions boast a variety of high-class features such as cinemas, swimming pools, gyms and even stables.
The value of all 11 properties is almost £37million, according to The Mirror.
A source told The Mirror: ‘A lot of players have moved on or even left the country. There’s a team of players selling, it’s only missing a goalkeeper.’
The ‘squad’ of players is made up of defenders Ferdinand, Gary and Phil Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Wes Brown and Mikael Silvestre.
Nani and Anderson, who arrived at the club together in 2007, complete the ‘midfield’ while the house-seller attackers include Tevez and 1999 European Cup final hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But despite their big prices, the homes may not be to everyone’s taste.
Phil Neville’s £4million mansion, which has six bedrooms, a cinema, spa, sauna and pool, has a gigantic playroom complete with indoor football pitch that resembles a giant table football game.
The Neville brothers are looking to sell their properties now both have moved to Spain, with Gary becoming Valencia manager a few months after Phil was appointed assistant to former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Although the team of ex-pros were not at the club all at the same time, they boast a massive haul of honours between them, with 49 Premier League winners’ medals, while they have all won the Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Phil’s pad is the most expensive while ex-French international and Manchester United striker Louis Saha’s is the cheapest at £1.85m, with the others all ranging between £2-3million.

Phil Neville’s £4million mansion boasts this impressive swimming pool, pictured, along with six bedrooms, a giant indoor playroom, a spa, cinema and sauna. Phil has been working as assistant manager at Valencia CF in Spain since the start of the season and, as of earlier this month, has been joined by big brother Gary as manager

Gary’s pad is on the market for £3million and his grand hallway would not look out of place on the Titanic. The ex-right back joined Valencia at the start of this month and will manage the club alongside his duties on Roy Hodgson’s coaching staff for England until at least after taking the nation to Euro 2016 in France next June

Mikael Silvestre’s property looks more like a castle and costs about as much at £3.85million. The former French international played for United for almost a decade at left-back and centre-back before stunning football fans across the country by moving to Arsenal in 2008, where he played for two seasons. He most recently played for Chennaiyin in the Indian Super League

Wes Brown’s indoor cinema looks fancy but the house comes at a cost of £2.95million. Brown left United for Sunderland in 2011, after winning seven Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three league cups and two European Cups – an incredible haul despite never really holding down a place in the first team during his 15-year spell at the club

Rio Ferdinand has put this house on the market for £3million. He ended his Man United career in 2014 and retired last summer after a one-season spell with Queens Park Rangers, following many of his peers into punditry by signing with BT Sport, appearing on panels for both Premier League and Champions League matches

This pool and spa area looks like it belongs in a health club but it is actually part of winger Nani’s £3.25million property. The Portuguese international divided the fans at Old Trafford and left for Turkish side Fenerbahce last summer alongside striker Robin van Persie

There’s nothing too fancy about this £2.5million house, which matches its current owner Nemanja Vidic perfectly. The Serb was a rock at the back for the Red Devils, forming a record-breaking defensive partnership with Ferdinand and winning numerous titles

This £3.3million property belongs to Brazilian midfielder Anderson, another figure who was in and out of favour with both the fans and Sir Alex Ferguson. He scored nine goals in 181 games for the Red Devils before returning to South America in 2015

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 3.4 acre five-bedroom property is up for grabs for £4million. The Norwegian striker-turned manager recently returned to the Premier League as manager of Cardiff City but was sacked after failing to improve results following their relegation. He is now back in his home country managing Molde

Carlos Tevez had a fine place to cool off when he rented this £3million mansion during his spell in this country with Manchester United and Manchester City. He was known for his combative nature on the pitch and got into a few arguments off it as well, famously feuding with Sir Alex Ferguson at United and Roberto Mancini at City
