Roberto Martinez has revealed that Everton could lose Gerard Deulofeu back to Barcelona next year due to the complex terms of his summer move.
Everton pulled off a coup by taking the highly regarded Spain Under 21s international from the Nou Camp for £4.2million and his displays in recent weeks have vindicated the huge faith that Martinez has in him.
Barcelona, however, inserted a buy-back option, and Martinez admitted the Champions League holders can re-sign Deulofeu for £6.3m at the end of this season, or £8.4m in the 2017 window.

Barcelona could re-sign Gerard Deulofeu after inserting a buy-back clause into the winger’s move to Everton

Manager Roberto Martinez admitted Everton are powerless should Barcelona decide to activate the clause
‘There is nothing we can do if they activate it,’ said Martinez, who stressed Deulofeu cannot move in January. ‘That was the deal and the only way we could access the player on the terms that we wanted. I’m delighted with the deal.
‘You’re talking about a Barcelona player who has been all through his years as the golden boy believing he is going to be at the top level at Barcelona and we got him for a very good price.’
Chelsea are still interested in John Stones, but Martinez says there is no possibility of him — or any of his colleagues — being sold in the next window.
‘I am not worried at all — our best players will not be leaving in January,’ said Martinez. ‘Our focus is on being as strong as we can together.’

Martinez insists Everton defender John Stones, who remains a target for Chelsea, will not be sold in January
