Caretaker boss Alan Curtis is prepared to remain in charge of Swansea until the end of the season with the Welsh club’s search for a new manager having stalled.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has held talks with several candidates to succeed Garry Monk, including Marcelo Bielsa, Gus Poyet and Jose Morais.
However, Curtis revealed a move for Bielsa has ‘cooled’ and there is little sign that an appointment is imminent over a busy festive period that kicks off against West Brom on Boxing Day.

Curtis, 61, is set to be in charge against the Baggies, as well as Monday’s clash with Crystal Palace, and has not ruled out a longer stint in charge should the club he has served for over 40 years need him.
‘I will carry on for as long as it takes, if it’s the weekend or a little bit further we will do what it takes for the club to continue to show the improvement on the field and, perhaps more importantly, pick up points,’ said Curtis.
‘Part of the equation would be if we were to win a couple of games and the performances carry on being decent, then probably the need to appoint a new manager is not so great.’
